Orphan Clubs

Orphan Clubs are old TDSA clubs that no longer have executives running the club. These clubs are available for any student to adopt and make their own! Come to the TDSA office or email the Vice President of Campus Life, Meagan Atfield, for more information!
Below is a list of orphan clubs and their most recent club descriptions!

Jam Sessions

Jam Sessions was a club that provided a stress free environment to play or listen to music of any variety. Members were free to bring in their own instruments or sing along or just listen. 

Trent Durham Dance Club

Combining various forms of dance to bring and manifest a diversified atmosphere to the campus community. This club was for anyone who wanted to learn through the art of dance, and for anyone that wanted to be creative beyond boundaries.

Trent Gainz

Trent Gainz looked to create a safe and inclusive environment where Trent students could explore the world of fitness and establish long term goals with work out partners to help them meet those goals. The mortal enemy of the freshmen fifteen, Gainz looked to increase health and energy during those long winter months! 

Trent English Student Society of Oshawa (TESSO)

"O let my books be then the eloquence and dumb presages of my speaking breast" - Shakespeare. The Trent English Students Society of Oshawa was a student run club dedicated to the appreciation of literature.

Trent Durham Improv

Trent Durham Improv is a club that uses improv games to encourage quick thinking, develop public-speaking skills, and have a whole lot of fun! Anyone looking for a low-obligation, friendly environment to make friends and kick back are welcome to drop in.

Trent Foosball Club

An open and semi-competitive club for the recreational play of the world renowned party sport. This club welcomes players of all levels from beginner to intermediate.

Open Studio

Open Studio is all inclusive visual arts club that provides stress relief and enjoyment to the students at Trent Durham. We focus on mutual improvement, and provide experience with new mediums and techniques, in a warm and relaxing environment.

Trent Anthropology Club

The Anthropology club at Trent looks to form a close knit club where students can discuss anthropological topics and have their work looked over by other anthropology students. They want to expand awareness of the anthropology program and aim to grow the program on the Durham Campus.

Trent Durham Social Work Association

The Trent Durham Social Work Association is focused on community involvement, hosting fundraisers for local charities and providing students with opportunities to further their involvement in the Durham area. Any student interested in local outreach, charity, and involvement is welcome

Trent Knitting Club

The Knitting Club provides a safe and accessible space for knitters of all skill levels to come and practice their skills and to learn new ones. Meetings are often accompanied with Netflix viewings and snacks!

Trent Vegan Society

The Trent Vegan Society is a group of people interested in practicing and sharing a lifestyle that reduces harm to Animals. The Trent Vegan Society seeks to educate others of the benefits of living a vegan lifestyle. The Vegan Society holds various events throughout the year that helps bring people together and raise money for animals in need. Keep your eyes out for posters around the school regarding events and information

Writer's Block

Trent Durham Writer's Block is dedicated to creative writing and peer feedback. At the Writer's Block, students are encouraged to submit their work-in-progress pieces of prose or poetry for fellow members to provide critical insight and suggestions for their pieces, as well as the opportunity to critique others' submitted works.

​The Sociology How-To Club

We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the treaty and traditional territory of the Mississauga Anishnaabeg. We offer our gratitude to the First Nations for their care for, and teachings about, our earth and our relations. May we honour those teachings. ​
