Bio coming soon.

Director of Academics, Luke Horton

Sigfrid Belemsaga
My name is Luke Horton and I am a fourth-year honours history and English literature major at Trent University Durham. On top of being the Director of Academics for TDSA, my extra-curricular roles include being an executive of the Trent History in Community Club (T.H.I.C.C.) and the Trent D&D Club. As a student coming into university three years ago, all I could think about was if I would be able to complete my major, the courses available and the guidance of those more experienced to help me through my academic career. I longed to become the Director of Academics to help those in their academic career here at Trent Durham to be the happiest and most successful students they can be. You can usually find me drinking Arizona Iced Tea in the cafeteria or walking through the hallways with one of the other directors. In any case, please pull me aside and talk to me anytime about any academic comments, concerns and/or questions, or even just to chat. Until next time, stay safe and study hard!

Director of Community Outreach, Jewel Sisson

Aleah Symons
My name is Jewel Sisson, and I’m BEYOND excited to be your Director of Community Outreach this year. I chose to act as this role as I truly believe that serving others brings out the best in oneself. Nothing makes me happier than making a tangible difference… other than maybe chocolate. Although it’s unlikely I’ll give you chocolate (stick around just in case). I can help you give back to the Durham community. Not sure where you want to get involved? Or what causes you care for? Let’s chat about it!! My inbox is open anytime. Feel free to message me at communityoutreach@mytsa.ca A little bit more about me (as I’m sure you're dying to know); I'm a Child & Youth Studies and Sociology student, I’m in my second year, my dream car is a hippy van, and my career plan is to become a pediatric occupational therapist. Here’s to volunteerism, Trent University, Durham region, finding our passions and 2020/2021!

Director of Finance, Phuong Nguyen

Lynch Alcala-Hao
Hi! My name is Phuong, I'm entering my fourth year at Trent, studying Business Administration. I've always been involved with the various ongoings on campus, in several clubs: D&D, Improv, and Pride Club (of course). This past year, I've had the privilege to be exec to the history club and the Sob Stories club. If I’m not in the school buildings, then I may be at intramural volleyball, football, or doing one of countless other hobbies like painting, embroidery, or practicing taekwondo. I'm sure being director will bring its new challenges, but I hope to face them head on with this team to better our shared campus and community. As Director of Finance, I actually hope that the year turns out uneventful, because a budget being described as "interesting" can't possibly mean a good thing.

Director of Health & Wellness, Caelainn Smith-Cox

Scott Boulton
Caelainn is a second-year Child and Youth Studies and Teacher Education Stream Student empowered to focus on the health and wellness needs of students at Trent Durham. She is a strong believer that health and wellness are connected and that there cannot be one without the other. Caelainn is excited to implement health and wellness initiatives around campus as well as being a support system for Trent Durham Students. In her free time, Caelainn likes to read (you’ll probably always see her with a book in hand) and sing karaoke to every Disney channel bop ever made. Caelainn isn’t Caelainn without her tea either, so you’ll probably find her in the cafeteria line or Timmies before/after class. She has quotes for days and will give you advice when you’re down. If you see her in the halls, give her a random hug, high-five, or hello. Even better, tell her terrible jokes and she’ll definitely laugh. Caelainn believes that you gotta nourish before you can flourish and will always be a friend if/when you need one.

Director of Policy, Jeffrey Ross

TDSA logo, Shield and sword surrounded by branches
To get the easy stuff out of the way, I’m Jeff Ross and this is my fourth year at Trent Durham! I’m currently working on finishing up my dual major program in Anthropology and History, while also acting as executive to both the Trent DND Club and Trent History Club (THICC) here on the Durham campus!
I’m not from Oshawa, in fact I’m from Kitchener-Waterloo, so coming here for my first year was a major life change for me and I’ve never looked back on it. Trent Durham has helped me grow a lot since I got here, and I wanted to become the Director of Policy to provide the best experience possible to both current and incoming Trent members!
A little more about me if you want to get to know me better; I love animated movies (especially the lesser known ones), I absolutely love sushi and count unagi as an all-time favourite, me and the Director of Academics are extremely close, and you’ll never not see me with food or drink in my hand! Also, I tend to tell a lot of jokes so if you ever need material, I’ll be happy to give you some!

Director of Student Engagement, Kharington Petgrave

Mackenzie Prine
Hi, my name is Kharington Petgrave and I'm honored to be the Director of Student Engagement for the 2020-21 academic year! I'm a fourth-year Honors History student in the Teacher's Education Stream. I have been part of several clubs in my years at Trent Durham (ABCs, Improv, Theater Trent, etc.) and have been fortunate to find community in them. However, I realize that not everyone has a second home fall into their lap. My goal as director of Student Engagement is, therefore, to foster positive peer relationships help other students ''find their people'' on campus. You can find me on campus by following the sound of my distinctive cackle. Feel free to pull me aside and let me know what you'd like to see on campus! I hope to see you soon!

It isn't too late to get involved!
