Health & Dental Plan

Trent Durham Health and Dental Logo
Health Benefit Plan
All full and part-time Trent University Durham students are levied a fee which provides them with a comprehensive health benefit plan including limited provisions for prescription drugs, dental and vision care.

Students who are only in web-only classes are not charged for the health benefit plan and thus are not enrolled in it. Contact [email protected] if you want to opt into the plan.
International students should please contact the International office ([email protected]) in order to get their UHIP card.

Details of the plan can be found on the Student VIP website.

Health and Dental Financial Assistance
In partnership with the TCSA, the TDSA offers funding for expenses plan members may incur that are not covered by the benefits plan or that exceed the plan limits. All expenses under the health and dental umbrella will be considered, including counselling, dental emergencies, eye wear, etc. Assistance can be requested prior to incurring the cost, or retroactively after expenses have been incurred. More of information of this can be found here.

For January-start students only, the opt-out deadline is January 31st of that academic year. Students may opt-out online at the Student VIP website.
For students starting in May, you are not automatically enrolled into the plan. You would need to opt into the plan if you want to use it from May - August. To do so, email [email protected].
